Consolidation of the Homologated Model of Civic Justice in Municipalities of Mexico

As part of USAID’s program for the Crime Prevention and Reduction (PREVI), LAB-CO is providing support and technical assistance in the implementation and consolidation of the Homologated Model of Civic Justice (Modelo Homologado de Justicia Cívica -MHJC- in Spanish) in 12 municipalities, from 6 states of the country: La Paz, Benito Juárez, Solidaridad, Guadalajara, Zapopan, Tlaquepaque, Tonalá, Tlajomulco, Querétaro, San Luis Potosí and Ensenada. The MHJC seeks to early identify and solve the root causes of conflictive behavior before it escalates into violent or criminal acts. LAB-CO encourages municipalities to incorporate the model’s components through an iterative and results-based methodology, consisting of activities aimed at generating capacities for the resolution of order and living-together problems, strengthening violence prevention strategies at the local level and improving the internal management processes of the public administration.
